I’ve only really fallen

a few times once

when I was younger

on a curb in Boston another exiting

a subway in Manhattan my elbows

broke ground first and most recently

all I remember was the fall one

Autumn we held hands

I squeezed your palm three times 

meaning I love you just

before that

I can’t remember just

after is all blurry it was a perfect

fall I wish

I was filming/recording/something

more objective than writing now my blood is

everywhere on the page now

I’m split aren’t you don’t

you remember how your sobs

carved into my shoulder
