Bailey Andrea

… is an avid writer (who would’ve guessed?), but unfortunately, a rather slow reader. she’s very fond of park bench plaques with sweet messages and graffiti-ridden streets, because those are the kind of things that make the world feel poetic. a self-proclaimed dinner table comedian and old soul: she is a lover of rainy days and a hater of cynicism. she is also a huge fan of the semicolon and strong proponent of the oxford comma. though she’s got a degree in english & comparative literature and thus should be staunch about grammar, she likes improper capitalisation and indefinite subjects or interlocutors; and believes the word ‘and’ should be allowed to start sentences... and above all, she is a romantic.

literary hot take: fantastical world-building is overrated. we’ve got enough going on here on earth; there’s no need to build a new dimension or alternate reality to make your point.

poetry pet peeve: meaningless typography.

poetry fancies: juxtaposition of extremely detailed clauses and simple clauses.

… is a writer and that’s all you need to know. but if you’re really that curious, she loves vintage clothing, ernest hemingway, her criterion channel subscription, and walking long distances in improper footwear. she’s currently pursuing an MFA in poetry after completing her degree in english (don’t ask her about her dissertation).
